SDPPI is the certification management department of Indonesia. All communication products need the SDPPI certification before entering Indonesia. The Directorate General of Post and Telecommunication (DGPT) has been prohibiting non Indonesia companies from being type-approved certificate holders compulsory since June 2009.
Safety requirements for low-power equipment are not mandatory in Indonesia, however 2.4 GH and 5 GHz radio certification is mandatory and requires POSTEL certification. If you want to apply for Indonesian certification, you need to provide a local Indonesian company authorized by the overseas manufacturer as the certificate holder. And the local Indonesian company could be a local agent of the manufacturer, a local wholesaler, or a local broker. (Local testing in Indonesia).
Wireless products exported to Indonesia must have Indonesia's SDPPI type certification and customs inspection. The Department of General Post and Telecommunications (DGPT) has compulsorily banned companies outside Indonesia from being holders of type approval since June 2009.
