IC is the abbreviation of Industry Canada. As a government agency, IC is responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market. According to the relevant requirements in the standard RSS-GEN developed by IC and the standard ICES-003, wireless products must meet the relevant EMC and RF limits, and meet the requirements of SAR in RSS-102. In the evaluation of SAR, if the actual use distance of the wireless module is more than 20cm, the radiation safety can be evaluated in a manner similar to the MPE defined in the FCC in accordance with relevant regulations.
Similar to Midea FCC, IC currently only limits electromagnetic interference. The authentication method is the same as that of the FCC. There are three methods of VOC, DOC and ID authentication. The ID needs a local agent.
IC ID: CN (Company Number, up to 6 digits) + UPW (UniqLle Product Number, up to 8 digits) Free application, but you must have Canadian representative address information.
Information to be submitted for IC certification
1. Product manual
2. Circuit diagram, PCB diagram
IC certification standards:
ICES-001: Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generators
ICES-003: Interference-Causing Equipment Standards-Digital Apparatus
RSS Series: transmitting and receiving equipment
Q1: Is factory verification required?
No factory verification required
Q2: Wireless products need to apply for IC (ID) wireless IC certification to make IC. If the customer has not filed with the IC, the time will be 5 working days longer than usual.
Q3: IC certification process
Submit samples, application forms and related materials-arrange the test-test but notify the customer to make corrections, and the test will issue a certificate through the preparation of a report
